Squash Tamales (appetizer)
Two tamales filled with a roasted vegetable and chile salsa, roasted acorn squash, and toasted almonds and pumpkin seeds wrapped in banana leaves and steamed. (gluten free) $6.50
One of the most traditional soups of Mexico is called Pozole. This wonderful dinner soup is made with pork and hominy (large white corn) in a guajillo chile and tomato flavored broth. It is served as is done traditionally with a side of cabbage, radish, and onion for you to dress the soup as you wish and with tostadas. (gluten free)
Tortas de Carne Desebrada
A traditional Mexico City dish served from diners to top quality restaurants. They are tortas (patties) made with tender shredded beef, spinach, and egg served in a caldillo (salsa) of tomatoes. Served with rice, beans, and tortillas.
Camaron en Pipian Rojo
5 large shrimp crusted in a mixture of pumpkin seeds and nuts sauteed and served with red pipian mole (a mole that is made based with the same nut mixture, dried chiles, and tomatoes) and white rice. (gluten free)
